Please sign up here as launch volunteer for IDR if you are able to give some time.
As the member clubs of the Schuylkill Navy, you make all of this happen. And, we can't begin to thank you enough for all of the support you give to our national and local rowing community to make the various Schuylkill Navy regattas run year after year.
As the oldest regatta organizing committee in the world, the Schuylkill Navy runs more athletes through races than does any other organization in the country, with the exception of USRowing. And, in no other place in the world has a community of INDIVIDUAL clubs continuously pulled their resources together for over 150 years to put on racing the way that we do on the Schuylkill River.
As a result of running our regattas: we maintain our role as the primary stewards of the Schuylkill in the eyes of the City of Philadelphia, we're able to continuously reinvest in our infrastructure, we're able to support our local rowing causes and groups, and we're able to build our case for investment of public funds in restoring depth along Boathouse Row. More importantly, we all know that rowing changes lives; and, the regattas are a key element that keeps athletes engaged in the sport. Many of the future leaders of Boathouse Row and the Schuylkill Navy are the young people racing in this year's regattas. And, none of this can happen without your collective help.
We continue to make it easier for the clubs to organize their coverage for the regattas and are open to feedback about how we can keep improving! Meanwhile, please share this link with your members and ask for their help. Full Day shifts are great because it eliminates confusing change-overs at lunch, but we're very grateful for half day shifts too.
ALL LAUNCH DRIVERS (AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS) ARE INVITED TO #4 PBC EACH NIGHT FOR A POST-RACING DINNER. PLEASE SIGN UP BELOW TO RSVP YOUR ATTENDANCE AND HELP US GIVE AN ACCURATE HEADCOUNT TO OUR CATERERS.
