Minutes of the General Meeting September 9th, 2019

Meeting called to order at 7:14 pm.

Membership – Pete McNamara

  • We are at the unofficial cap, we have 2 potential members on the waiting list.

Treasurer’s Report –Fred Gerland

  • Thank you to Quaker City Rowing Foundation for their donation of 20k toward the dredging project. We have 119k in checking. We will be putting 50k in vanguard. We have 397k in vanguard. If you have any questions please reach out to Fred.

Schuylkill Navy Report – John K on behalf of Michael J Murphy

  • A proposal for a bid went out late in the summer. If it successful the project will start on the course in November possibly. Boathouse row could be dredged in late July of 2020.

Captain’s Report –John Scott

  • We are in great shape with our equipment except for some minor dings. As the seasons start to change, please remember to put lights on boats. Coach John Riley has everyone working hard and we were very successful with the summer regattas. We will be at the following regattas: Kings Head, Navy Day, HOCR, HOSR and The Hooch. The club is averaging 26 members at each practice.

House Committee – John K

  • Joe Carroll will be putting a proposal together to update our fire, security and also our camera systems

Old & New Business

  • A big thank you to Margo who ran another successful QCMR.

  • We welcomed two new members both come from the Wharton program- Molly and Nick.

  • Bob Galli will be in communication regarding nominations and eligible voters for January’s election
